Gemma is a multi-award winning broadcaster, published author, production company founder, magpie, life enthusiast who has almost a decade at the BBC under her belt. She has won awards for making documentaries on subjects such as young people in violent relationships. She is also an important advocate for young people and between her life experiences and her personal insight from her time as BBC Radio 1’s resident agony aunt on The Surgery, she is perfectly placed to offer hope and a comforting shoulder to young people.
Gemma will be here at OPEN by I Love Mel this Saturday (30th June) for our St Leonards Festival fringe event, Girls World, talking about and offering signings of her books Open Your Heart and Open: A Toolkit For How Magic & Messed Up Life Can Be. We will be selling copies of the books here on the day and there will also be a chance to win a free copy with our Who's That Girl Pop Quiz!
Remember we've also got live music from local band The Kiffs, art exhibitions and book readings for kids to excite you with so we hope to see you here on Saturday!
